Fiji Surf Jam

After a week of average size surf and less than perfect conditions,
the final day of the Roxy Fiji Surf Jam came to life as Megan Abubo
from Hawaii defeated Melanie Redman from Australia to win in classic
four to five foot Cloudbreak. Abubo posted a score of 17.75 to Redman’s
12.65. Abubo met Redman in the final after defeating Serena Brooke
in the semi final and Keala Kennely in the quarter final. Redman’s
path to the final was no easier meeting Brazilian Maria Tita-Tavares
in the quarter final and Jacqueline Silva in the semi final. The final
was under way at approximately 2:00 p.m. and right from the start
Abubo made strategic moves that landed her in the path of the set
waves necessary for winning the event.

Roxy Surf Camp! ocean safety, surfing
etiquette, and fun. The day is filled with relay races, prize giveaways
and a raffle drawing, which includes heaps of great Roxy products.
