fav. books?
I recently finished Memoirs of a Geisha... I'm
now slowly reading, Body Mind Mastery by Dan Millman. I really like to read biography type books and Charles Bukowski is pretty crazy to read, he is
demented...
fav. snowboarding video?
I like Whitey's movies, he makes snowboarding look
fun. 411Snow video is also good because you don't have to be a selected individual to be in their movie,
if you do something cool and it looks good they will
try to put it in.
What do you do to train?
I try to ride everyday and push myself to try
something new every time. It's definitely a mind
game.

Do you have a coach?
No, but my friends are very helpful. I also coach at
High Cascade camp in the summer in Mt. Hood and I
always listen to what the other coaches are telling
their kids. It helps.

who inspires you?
anyone with passion and respect for themselves and others. people who have STYLE. style doing anything, not just snowboarding. what style means to me is being yourself no
matter who's around and focusing on what you are doing instead of what everyone else is doing. very important.

Where is your fav. place to ride?
It varies every year. last year my favorite spot was
Mt. Hood Meadows. I haven't figured out the best
place this year, I really like riding in Japan, there is so much powder and they build so many awkward things on and around the resorts. it's cool to see.

what is the best part about snow boarding?
TRAVELING AND SEEING THE WORLD. Learning a new trick feels so good, but I also have to say the sunsets at Boreal (Tahoe) riding at night are so beautiful. Riding powder with your friends. There are too many to name, snowboarding can easily paint a perfect picture. it's all so positive.
what advice do you have for girls who are just
learning to ride?

Don't get intimidated, which is very easy when you see people around you that are so good...you have to start somewhere, everyone does. stay positive and believe in yourself because if you don't, no one
will. the more confident you are in yourself, the
better you will do and it will show through in the
end. good luck! your butt will hurt and you'll have
lots of gross bruises, but its worth every minute of
it!
Which competition do you look forward to most?
I don't look forward to any one competition. I like
them all if they have fun stuff to ride. frankly I'm
not the most competitive type person, in regards to
snowboarding, that is. Snowboarding is more of an
outlet for me, it means a lot more to me than just
wanting to WIN. I also have a difficult time wanting to huck just to prove myself and I also get
really nervous at contests, doing contests is a
great experience though.

what do you do when you are feeling down?
I get really pissed off at myself for about a minute,
then I realize how lucky I am to be able to ride
everyday and have a good time traveling. I feel very
special that I get to do what I am doing, not that I
don't work hard at it, but I feel really lucky, that's
all.

what is the universe saying to you?
The universe is so complex, just like we are, it says
something new to me each and everyday.
LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST BECAUSE YOU DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW LONG YOU CAN ACTUALLY LIVE IT!!!!!
Happiness comes from within, so be yourself and
everything will be great.

When did you start snow boarding?
My first time was at the end of the season in 1992,
that next season I was a weekend warrior...

What trick are you working on?
Just for fun I've been trying backflips off of tiny little kickers into the powder or whatever. just a FUN thing to do with all of your friends.

fav. food?
Gosh, food is my favorite in general...I like Thai, sushi, pretty much anything with spice. I like it
very spicy.
