What
is the best part about skydiving? feeling
free to expose in all dimensions, feeling that adrenaline rush which
puts a fat smile on your face. Also being able to express
yourself through your body, totally free from all physics rules
but the gravity one.

|
how
do you warm up?
I always stretch, do a little cardio, specially
if it's cold in the morning and I ad some real workout at a gym
at least 3 times a week or more if I have some spare time.

what
is your favorite book?
I love reading books even though finding time for it is sometimes
an issue (it should never be with books but...) I've got plenty of
great books but they're all in french. You might be able to find this
one in english Ants and the trilogy that
goes with. it is written by Bernard Weber.
Right now I am reading one of his book that my mum sent me. I am also
reading a bunch for school so it enlarges a bit better my culture
in american litterature.

how did you get started?
What got me started was was a girl that I barely knew at that point
sitting next to me in class. we had to do a professional action outside
the university and she knew a skydiving club that needed an advertising
campaign to promote the first jump at the period of Xmas. The campaign
worked out so nice, that the guy paid us in jumps! Without all this
story, I would have never intended to jump in my life. What I wanted
to try was hand gliding. But it didn't happened yet.

who
inspires you?
My first inspiration was this incredible guy named Maco Manna. He
gave to freestyle the kick it needed to happen. I was just beginning
to jump (about 50 jumps) when I saw a video where you could see him
perform. His freestyle was dynamic, full of lay outs and twists...
a total storm that made me think of gymnastic without the hard floor
under your feet. I still get inspired by anyone who will try to get
out of what's already done. It could be a student or someone performing
tricks in another discipline which would give me some kind of inspiration
to let my brain getting creative. |

what
advice do you have for girls just starting?
The only advice I would give to someone new to the sport is to pick
what they like the best and go for it.
Watch a bunch of videos to see what kind of style you like and get
coached as soon as you choose a discipline. you may spend
some money at first but you won't waste any time and energy. I saw
too many people quitting because they were facing too many difficulties
learning by themselves and stop enjoying themselves skydiving. I
also would say that no pre-gymnastic experience is required to start
doing freestyle but you will have to stretch
and get flexible as well as strengthen your body to become more
efficient and being able to do moves more easily.

how do you do
to give yourself a boost when you feel down?
I complain a lot when I am training ( my videoman is a good
witness) but knowing that a little bit more effort on that move
and I'll do it, is my best way to boost myself. My videoman critic
helps me too when I am out of ideas to pass a move or make it look
smother. I think that when your down you should
do something else for a little while and then come back on
it. It is like a good night of sleep; you see things more clearly
if you don't look at them too closely.
|
what
is the Universe saying to you?
The universe doesn't yet tell me anything, but it's
way to energize me, to make me see things
differently and to put all these incredible people on my way,
is already a good eye opener for me. |
